Tamar Jacoby

SchaeferTamar Jacoby is president and CEO of ImmigrationWorks USA, a national federation of employers working to advance better immigration law. A nationally known journalist and author, she is a leading center-right advocate for immigration reform. From 1989 to 2007, she was a senior fellow at  the Manhattan Institute. Before that, she was a writer and editor for Newsweek, and deputy editor of The New York Times op-ed page. She has written one book on immigration and edited a collection of essays for another.

As head of a pro-immigration reform business organization, Tamar covers the issue of immigration from a unique perspective. She’ll speak to the legislative unheaval over this issue in April and May, and her expectations for the rest of the Congressional year — and beyond.

SchaeferThe founding member of Border Management Strategies, Mark K. Reed was the highest ranking career government official within the Immigration and Nationalization Service during his career. At retirement, Mark directed border patrol, investigation, detention and removal, adjudication, and inspection operations from the northern to southern U.S. borders.

The federal government’s approach to immigration law enforcement has left companies reeling from raids or, most recently, enduring audits of their I-9s. As a former top executive of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, Reed --- now a consultant --- is well-positioned to tell processors what they should expect from the federal government in the absence of comprehensive immigration reform, and how it might change.

Greg Siskind

SchaeferGreg Siskind is founder of Siskind Susser Bland P.C., one of the largest immigration practices in United States. A graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University of Chicago School of Law, Siskind also is co-founder of Visalaw International, the first global alliance of immigration lawyers, and has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America and to “Whos Who in Corporate Immigration Law.”

As one of the nation’s premier immigration attorneys, Siskind will cover the steps that companies can, and should, take now to stay abreast of regulatory developments in hiring and managing immigrant workers, and how to prepare for changes.
